She is a founding member of the Tennessee Region Tiffany Circle, Tiffany Circle National Council, Great Britain Tiffany Circle, and the Tiffany Circle International Council. Barbara’s leadership has helped raise funds for multiple Red Cross initiatives, including the naming of Tiffany Circle Hall, providing new generation Emergency Response Vehicles, and restoring a historic dress owned by Clara Barton. This dress can be seen on display at the American Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Chief David Windrow was presented with the 2026 Storyteller Award. This award recognizes individuals who have passionately and consistently shared their story to advance the Red Cross Mission. As a military veteran, retired fire chief, and cancer survivor, David’s story has crossed paths with the Red Cross Mission in many ways. During the event, Chief Windrow shared the story of his battle with a rare blood cancer and credited the blood transfusions he received with saving his life. He encourages community members to donate to the Red Cross however they may be able, through blood donations, financial contributions, or by volunteering time. “You may never see the face of the person you’re helping, but your generosity is changing someone’s life.”
