  • A critically low level is a red blood cell inventory less than a one-day supply.
  • A one day inventory is the lowest level of red blood cell inventory in the Region's desirable range.
  • After September 11, 2001, optimal inventory levels for the Region changed from a three-day inventory to a seven-day inventory of red blood cells.
