- Florida
Alignment of the Masters of Disaster Curriculum with Florida's Sunshine
State Standards is underway and should be completed in May, 2001. The
project is the result of a partnership between the Palm Beach County Chapter
of the American Red Cross, the University of North Florida-Florida Institute
of Education and the Florida Department of Education. Once completed,
schools will have access to a matrix that links lesson plans with state
standards at the benchmark level. For questions about this project, please
contact Julie Collins, Office of Safe Schools, Florida Department of
Education (collinj@mail.doe.state.fl.us).
