National Patient Travel HELPLINE Program
Scope: National
Mission: A service from the National Patient Travel Center, the HELPLINE is a free service designed to find charitable, charitably assisted and specially discounted commercial flights for patients in need. After an initial screening of patient needs and determination of a suitable means of travel, callers are referred to the most appropriate charitable medical air transportation program that can best meet their needs. This is a referral service and there is no cost for the information. This HELPLINE is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Angel Flight America
Scope: They have regional offices that cover the continental U.S. See below.
Mission Statement: Angel Flight provides access to people in need, seeking free air transportation to specialized health care facilities or distant destinations due to a family, community, or national crisis. The Angel Flight America national network is comprised of six autonomous regional organizations and Mercy Medical Airlift who are together focused on simply matching people in need with resources that can provide HELP and HOPE. Individuals seeking assistance should contact the Angel Flight serving their local region.

Angel Flight East
Scope: Regional
Mission: Angel Flight East (AFE) is a nonprofit organization that facilitates free air transportation for medical and humanitarian needs. Angel Flight East flies from Maine to Florida, and throughout the Midwest. Patients who fly with us must be ambulatory and medically stable, able to board an aircraft with little or no assistance, and be able to fly in a light aircraft without on-board medical support. Formed in 1992, AFE now flies more than 500 missions annually.

AirLifeLine
Scope: National
Mission: AirLifeLine coordinates free air transportation for people in need. For a quarter-century, AirLifeLine has helped to ensure equal access to health care and improve the quality of life for thousands of people throughout the United States. AirLifeLine will coordinate flights related to: medical missions; transplant missions; humanitarian missions, cargo missions, disaster relief missions.

Mercy Med Flight
Scope: National
Mission: Mercy Med Flight provides free long-distance medical transportation for patients who cannot afford commercial air ambulance service. MMF benefits people in medical and financial dilemmas. MMF's goal is to airlift non-ambulatory patients who need to move a long distance to receive needed assistance such as life-saving surgeries, necessary rehabilitation, or life-enhancing and healing reunions with families.

Mission: The Air Care Alliance is a nationwide league of humanitarian flying organizations whose volunteer pilots are dedicated to community service. Travelers Aid International

Mission: Travelers Aid International is the association of Travelers Aid programs in the United States and Puerto Rico. Travelers Aid International's member agencies serve individuals and families in crisis due to homelessness, mobility, or other disruptive circumstances.

Mission: MileDonor.com is a non-profit effort that facilitates the donation of miles, points and awards for personal and charitable use worldwide. MileDonor.com provides an opportunity for donors, charities, frequent traveler programs and individuals seeking donations to exchange information. Individuals seeking donations may register to be added to their donor request list. This list is occasionally looked at by potential donors who may contact the individual if they are interested in donating. MileDonor.com does not directly coordinate travel.

Children's Flight of Hope
Scope: Regional. East Coast.
Mission: A nonprofit organization that provides free air transportation to and from distant medical facilities for children with critical medical needs. Seeks to ensure that children in their service area are not denied access to medical treatment at distant facilities due to either financial need, or a medical condition that precludes travel via ground or commercial aircraft.

Volunteer Pilots Association
Scope: Regional. Northeast U.S.
Mission: The Volunteer Pilots Association is a charitable non-profit organization providing air transportation to needy people who must travel to obtain medical treatment. Member pilots, flying privately owned general aviation aircraft, donate their time and flight expenses.

Wings for Children
Scope: Regional. Northeast U.S. (within 500 miles of Pittsburgh, PA).
Mission: A non-profit corporation, incorporated for the charitable purpose of assisting ambulatory children with life threatening and/or chronic illnesses requiring specialized medical treatment. These children cannot utilize commercial airlines because of their physical or financial condition. To that end, Wings for Children, Inc. was created recognizing the physical health and emotional well being of such children presenting unique and critical demands.

Scope: Regional. Arizona and surrounding states.
Mission: On a non-emergency basis, FFL provides round-trip air transportation for needy individuals who must travel from their residence to another location for treatment. FFL provides transportation without regard to financial need if the individual is unable to travel by any other means.
