INVOLVE toolkit


This project will provide financial support to Red Cross chapters with little or no youth involvement with strategic support in their use of the Youth Involvement Toolkit, thus increasing volunteer management, diversity and service delivery.

Supported by the Office of the National Chair of Volunteers, youth development, program implementation support and resources will be provided through outreach efforts involving the National Youth Council as well as the Youth and Young Adult Programs and Services department to accomplish an important strategic initiative of the Red Cross mission: develop and implement programs targeted at youth and young adults, focusing on engaging them in the mission of the Red Cross as well as providing services targeted to their needs.

Twenty-five chapters will be awarded grants to assist in the investment of youth and young adult programs and services.

Implementation
  • Work with chapters to develop activity plans for 2006-2007, including a project on National Youth Service Day.
  • Facilitate youth directors/coordinators attendance at VAI (travel, lodging, registration included).
  • $1,000 grant for planning and implementation of a Red Cross mission-related National Youth Service Day project .
  • Provide American Red Cross Leadership In Action Youth Curriculum Manual and Participants guides.
  • Provide Imagine What We Can Do Together Kit.
  • Provide chapter/unit specific input and feedback on volunteer management, developing youth program projects, and practices from the Office of The National Chair of Volunteers.
  • Internal and external acknowledgement and recognition as grant recipient and participating partner in youth programs and volunteer management strategic investment with national headquarters.
