New Addition to Youth and Young Adult Programs and Services

The following message is from Kate Forbes, National Chair of Volunteers:

It is with great pleasure that we announce the addition of Amelia Marian to the Youth and Young Adult Programs and Services division of the Office of the National Chair of Volunteers. Amelia joined our team as a business planning analyst in January and will focus her project planning expertise on increasing the effectiveness of youth and young adult involvement and initiatives to field units.

Marian's affiliation with the American Red Cross began in April 2006 as a volunteer in the Chapter Quality Assurance department. Her next assignment was to support to International Family Tracing Services. In September she started working with the Office of the National Chair of Volunteers as executive assistant to the National Chair of Volunteers and most noticeably using her precise project management skills during the planning and implementation of the 2007 Volunteer Administration Institute.

In Romania, her home country, Marian served as an assistant professor, group facilitator and researcher at West University in Timisoara in the field of psychology.

Marian holds bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology from West University. She currently is a Ph.D. candidate at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi, Romania with an expected completion date of May 2008.

With years of demonstrated project management experience and work with young adults at the university setting, Amelia will add great value to an already dynamic Youth and Young Adult Programs and Services team.

Amelia can be reached at (202) 303-8449; MarianA@usa.redcross.org.
