Ways to Give to Help Disaster Victims
You can help people affected by disasters, like the recent floods and tornadoes, by donating to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. On those rare occasions when donations exceed Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters. Your gift enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to victims of all disasters.
Here are the ways you can provide help for Red Cross relief efforts:
- Purchase Red Cross-branded items to show your support and a portion of your purchase automatically is a charitable donation.
- Host a fundraiser for the American Red Cross
Unfortunately, the Red Cross cannot accept small, individual collections of items such as clothing, food, cleaning supplies and medicine, because it strains resources to sort, package and distribute these kinds of donations and they are difficult to distribute in a meaningful way.
Thank you for your interest in the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, the recent tornadoes and floods and the countless disasters that affect people every day nationwide. We are humbled by the generosity of the American people and your willingness to help.
