The chaos and confusion of war and disaster can separate families when they need each other most. When this happens, the Red Cross joins the search across international borders, offering a unique service that reconnects families. American Red Cross caseworkers around the U.S. help families locate missing relatives by working with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations in nearly every country around the world.
The Red Cross helps families reconnect and stay in-touch through Red Cross Messages that are hand-delivered by volunteers.

When families are separated internationally due to armed conflict, disaster or other circumstances, the Red Cross helps. Restoring Family Links is a free service in which Red Cross Caseworkers help reconnect families.

Understanding that the pain of separation is enormous when you do not know if your loved ones are alive or suffering, the American Red Cross can help, by delivering a simple message like “I am alive” to facilitating the incredible reunions of Holocaust survivors. The American Red Cross Restoring Family Links services have brought comfort to thousands of families.

American Red Cross caseworkers around the U.S. help families locate missing relatives by working with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations in nearly every country around the world. Annually the American Red Cross assists more than 5,000 families trying to reconnect with their loved ones in the U.S. and around the world.

All Red Cross programs are made possible by the voluntary services and financial support of the American public. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers search tirelessly for information that will bring resolution to your case and peace of mind to you and your family.
