Youth and young adults play an important role in the Red Cross mission of preparing for and responding to emergencies. This is why we work closely with schools, Scouts and youth groups to prepare the next generation.
Masters of Disaster program utilizes a variety of age-appropriate approaches to improve students’ understanding of how they and their families can better prepare for disasters. The aim is to empower students by teaching easy and tangible steps to preparedness in a non-threatening manner. The program includes take-home activities to help families develop disaster plans, build disaster kits and get trained in first aid.
