Hero Nomination Form

You're invited to join the American Red Cross of Sierra-Delta in honoring heroes from our local communities at a series of fundraising events to be held throughout the year.

Red Cross Heroes is an uplifting fundraising event that recognizes everyday individuals who have shown extraordinary courage through an act of heroism. Hero nominations are accepted year-round in the categories listed below and will be submitted for consideration to the appropriate Red Cross Heroes event.

Hero nominees must reside in one of the eleven counties served by the Sierra-Delta Chapter.

    Event Location

  • Davis/Woodland (January) - Honoring Heroes of Sacramento, Yolo, and Placer counties
  • Stockton (April) - Honoring Heroes of San Joaquin, Calaveras, and Amador counties
  • Modesto (June) - Honoring Heroes of Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties

Nomination Categories

  • Animal Rescue - An animal who has performed an act of heroism in an emergency, or an individual who has performed an act of heroism on behalf of an animal.
  • Good Samaritan (Adult) - An individual between the ages of 18 and 55 who provided extraordinary or significant services in response to an emergency or disaster.
  • Good Samaritan (Senior) - An individual over the age of 55 who provided extraordinary or significant services in response to an emergency or disaster.
  • Good Samaritan (Youth) - An individual under the age of 18 who provided extraordinary or significant services in response to an emergency or disaster.
  • Law Enforcement - A law enforcement official who went above and beyond the call of duty to perform an act of heroism.
  • Medical Professional - A medical professional who went above and beyond the call of duty to perform an act of heroism.
  • Military (Active Duty) - A member of the armed forces who, during active duty, performed an act of heroism.
  • Military (Veteran) - A veteran member of the armed forces who performed an act of heroism.
  • Professional Rescuer - A professional rescuer who went above and beyond the call of duty to perform an act of heroism.
  • Spirit of the Red Cross - An individual who performed an act of heroism that exemplifies the humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross.
  • Workplace - An individual who performed an act of heroism in his/her workplace.
  • Hero of the Year (one per event) - An individual whose actions demonstrate a passionate commitment to saving lives and/or promoting the health and well-being of others.
