Corporate Partnerships

Partnerships with the Red Cross can help your company and our community at the same time.

  • Matching Gifts
Many companies have matching gift programs that will double or even triple charitable contributions made by their employees. Matching gifts increase the impact of employee gifts and supports the mission and life-saving work of the Red Cross. Visit the Employee Matching Gift site to see if your company is already a participant of this program.

  • Matching Grants for Employee Volunteering
Motivate your employees to volunteer by matching hours served with a financial donation from your company. A matching grant for employee volunteering, also known as a “dollars for doers” program, acts as an alternative to a matching gift program for employees who are able to donate time but not money. It also motivates employees to engage more deeply in their community through volunteer work.

  • Cause Marketing
An American Red Cross Cause Marketing program enables our corporate partners to utilize the American Red Cross brand to raise funds for people who need it the most. At the same time, partners may generate loyalty, attention and patronage from consumers, employees, investors and opinion leaders for their own brand. Cause marketing programs are as individually unique as the corporations themselves and can take on many shapes and sizes. At the American Red Cross, our team of corporate relationship managers and marketing professionals will brainstorm with you to create the perfect campaign for your organization.

  • Red Cross Materials
The Red Cross has materials available for you to use for your event, including flyers, collection containers and signs. You may request these materials through the Red Cross after you have returned your completed contract. Any materials you create that include the Red Cross name or logo must be approved by the Red Cross to ensure proper usage of the brand.

Event Sponsorship Opportunities

Our annual events would not be possible without the generous support from our community. There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities available for the different events held by the American Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties.

  • Disaster Preparedness Academy
Learn preparedness from the experts in this full-day workshop. The Disaster Preparedness Academy is sponsored by the local Red Cross Business Leadership Council and is designed to improve business resiliency in our community. Join us as an attendee, exhibitor, or underwriter.

  • Shelter of Hope
Nearly every 24 hours the Red Cross responds to a home fire or other type of disaster right here in San Diego and Imperial Counties, providing help and hope to families in crisis. Shelter of Hope raises funds and awareness for Red Cross services in our community.

  • Real Heroes Breakfast
There are everyday heroes among us who inspire us by their actions, compassion, and dedication to serving others. The Real Heroes Breakfast is a community celebration that honors citizens in San Diego and Imperial Counties who have made a difference in their communities through their acts of courage and service to others. Join us each year in celebration and click here to nominate your hero.

Host a Third-Party Fundraiser

When a major disaster occurs – from a large apartment complex fire to a major earthquake – people in the community are among the first to help, often looking for a way to support the relief efforts underway. Your organization may want to hold an event to help support the ongoing preparedness and readiness efforts of the American Red Cross. Fundraising events of this kind are called “Third-Party Fundraisers” and must be registered and have an agreement with your local Red Cross.

An agreement establishes a framework of legitimacy for the fundraising effort and defines the relationship between the American Red Cross and the fundraiser. It assures the donor that monies donated will support the efforts of the American Red Cross. In the event that a potential donor has questions about the fundraising effort, the agreement allows us to assure the donor that the fundraising is an official American Red Cross affiliated event.

Corporate Microsites

When your company wants to conduct an employee giving and matching gift campaign, the Red Cross has an online donation platform option to make your campaign a success. A Red Cross customizable online donation site (or a microsite) allows your employees or customers to support the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross in your community, across the country and around the world. These sites are suggested for companies with approximately 2,000 or more U.S.-based employees and multiple locations. If your company has fewer than 2,000 U.S. based employees, we have other online donation options.

For additional information, please contact Veronica Braun, Regional Philanthropy Officer, at or (858) 309-1274.
