All of the Red Cross's Oakland CNA classes consist of two sections: in-class training and clinical rotations. During your clinical training students will work directly with patients in a health care facility. During this time, you'll be supervised by a Licensed Nurse, who also is licensed by the State as a Nurse Assistant Training Instructor. By working side-by-side with other aides, nurses and medical professionals you'll not only understand what being a CNA is really like, but you'll learn the importance of good communication, teamwork, and providing patients with the highest level of care.
At the Red Cross, our CNA classes in Oakland include several weeks of in-classroom learning. This ensures that you're able to learn the theory and skills necessary for successfully completing your clinical rotations. During the in-class portion of your training, you'll learn the Art of Caregiving, CPR, AED usage, First Aid, taking vital signs, and more. During this time, you'll have the time work through problems and scenarios, the opportunity to practice your skills and the chance to learn from experienced, licensed professionals.
Your CNA training in Oakland can prepare you for a rewarding career in the medical field that's rife with opportunity. In fact, from 2010 to 2020 the need for Certified Nurse Assistants is expected to grow by 20%.
