Do you know a hero – someone who has saved a life, made our community a safer place or gone above and beyond to help someone in need?
Each year, the Connecticut Red Cross honors local citizens from throughout the state who make a positive and significant impact on our community, exemplifying the spirit of our mission. These heroes are recognized at Red Cross Heroes Celebrations.
We need your help identifying local heroes! In the past we have honored individuals (adults, youth and children), groups, teams, and even pets.
The candidate(s) must live or work in Connecticut or the heroic act must have taken place in Connecticut. It also must be ongoing or have occurred in the past 15 months.
While anyone may be considered, we are especially interested in those who have acted during times of disaster; have shown grace under pressure with the use of CPR/First Aid or water safety training; performed inspiring volunteer service in their community or overseas; provided exemplary military service OR served our members of the military and military families; or have helped make sure we have a safe, adequate blood supply available to meet the needs of our community.
