St Louis Centennial EventsThroughout 2017 in a series of community events, our region will recognize past and present volunteer contributions.
January - Light the Skyline Red
To kick-off our centennial celebration, we are asking St. Louis to join us in lighting our skyline red. Participating buildings and landmarks will light up red during the week of January 22nd, 2017 – the day the St. Louis Red Cross was established.
February - St. Louis Centennial Art Post Contest

March - Society of Women Leaders Centennial Event
Society of Women Leaders is a special group of civic-minded leaders who are following in Clara Barton’s courageous footsteps to ensure our humanitarian work continues for generations to come.
April - 6th Annual Heroes Breakfast
Every year, the American Red Cross Greater St. Louis Region honors individuals who respond heroically to someone in critical need. This signature event recognizes remarkable people from our community who acted courageously out of the pure compassion of their heart.
May - Community Appreciation Celebration
Volunteers and community partners power the Red Cross. This yearly celebration recognizes the people and organizations in St. Louis that help the Red Cross build stronger, more resilient communities.
June - Service to the Armed Forces – Scott AFB
Service to the Armed Forces is a key line of service of the American Red Cross. In fact, we got our start by helping the war-injured on the battlefield. In June, we will showcase our partnership with Scott AFB who is also celebrating their centennial in 2017.
July - Women Warriors Baby Shower
We are dedicated to serving the men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and their families. We will be hosting a baby shower for 100 active duty and veteran expectant mothers.
August - Dine Out for Disaster Relief
The Red Cross will partner with the Missouri Restaurant Association, MasterCard, KMOV-TV and individual restaurants to donate a portion of their proceeds to the Red Cross' disaster relief program.
September - Open House
Any time. Any place. Any one. The American Red Cross is here for every American. We are inviting the St. Louis community to our house to see the Red Cross services and resources in action.
October - Holidays for Heroes with the St. Louis Blues
The American Red Cross encourages the St. Louis community to send holiday wishes to active military, their families and veterans in homes and hospitals. The Holidays for Heroes campaign gives schools, organizations, companies and individuals an opportunity to honor our servicemen and women by sending cards during the holiday season.
December - 100 Pints for 100 Years Blood Drive
Give the gift of life during this centennial, board-sponsored blood drive. We have an ambitious goal of collecting 100 units in one drive.
