Prior to becoming the CEO of the American Red Cross of Eastern PA on May 16, 2011, the Honorable Renée Cardwell Hughes served as a trial judge in the Court of Common Pleas, the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania which encompasses the City of Philadelphia. Judge Hughes served in the Trial Division of the court, since her appointment to the bench in 1995 by Governor Tom Ridge. She was elected to a full ten year term beginning January, 1996 and was re-elected in 2005 to a second full term. She specialized in homicides, but has handled both civil and criminal proceedings.
Judge Hughes received her legal degree from Georgetown University Law Center and her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.
Daniel Rhynhart is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter
Mr. Rhynhart is a partner in the law firm Blank Rome LLP. He is a business attorney and Chair of the firm's of the Commercial Litigation practice group, ranked by U.S. News and World Report as National Tier 1 and Philadelphia Tier 1 in its "Best Law Firms" rankings for 2015.
Michele J. Baehr, Executive Director, Pocono Mountains
Michele Baehr has been an executive director at the Red Cross since March 2014 and a resident of the Poconos area since 1987. Prior to joining the Red Cross, she spent 25 years in corporate retail sales. Her passion is helping others, and she looks forward to delivering the Red Cross mission, vision and values as a part of the Eastern PA Region. Her chapter will serve Carbon, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna and Wayne counties.
Peter Brown, Executive Director, Greater Lehigh Valley
Peter Brown, Executive Director for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter, joined the Red Cross as a staff member in April 2013, after years of involvement with the organization as a volunteer and Board member. Peter began his service with the Red Cross as a Volunteer in 1998. He served as a board member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter from 2002 to 2013, has been a past Chapter Treasurer, and most recently chaired the Marketing and Communications Committee.
Peter brings 29 years of experience in banking and financial services, with extensive experience in business development, sales management, project management, strategic planning and marketing. His most recent role was that of Vice President of Marketing & Sales for First Savings Bank of Perkasie, Bucks County. Peter is dedicated to community involvement. He coached boys and girls soccer, basketball, baseball and softball over the past 15 years with the Upper Milford Youth Association, is a member of Bethany Church in Wescosville where he and his wife serve as members of the Praise Band, and in the past held a leadership role with the Cub Scouts in Old Zionsville. Peter received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mansfield University and resides in Zionsville with his wife, Laura Goldy, and their three children.
Peter is focused on leading the Red Cross team to fulfill the mission of the American Red Cross, to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Bill Goldsworthy, Executive Director
Bill Goldsworthy was named Executive Director for the American Red Cross of Northeast PA in the spring of 2015. Prior to joining the Red Cross, Goldsworthy served four years as former Governor Tom Corbett’s Deputy Director for the Northeast Region.
Goldsworthy has an extensive business and community service background. He served 14 years as Mayor of West Pittston while also working for three decades at Golden Business Machines. Goldsworthy helped the company grow from a small, local business to a regional company covering 20 counties.
He remains active in several other community organizations as well. Goldsworthy serves on the Board of Directors for both the Wilkes-Barre and Pittston Chambers of Commerce and remains an active volunteer firefighter with the West Pittston Hose Company #1. He started there when he was 18 and later served a number of years as borough fire chief. Bill is also an Eagle Scout and former Scoutmaster for Troop 352.
Bill and his wife Jannet reside in West Pittston. They have four children and three grandchildren.
Adrian Grieve, Executive Director of the Tri-County Red Cross
Adrian Grieve joined the Red Cross in 1989 shortly after the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, his hometown. He was unable to reach family and friends for three days before he found out they were safe. He spoke with his boss at the time who mentioned that the Red Cross connected people after disasters which led him to take training and volunteer as a disaster volunteer. His passion for the Red Cross continued to grow over the years and he now serves as the Executive Director for Berks, Chester and Schuylkill counties.
