Red Cross Club
Working closely with the local chapters of the American Red Cross in Florida's Central Region and a school advisor, club members participate in Red Cross service projects that impact their community and the world. They offer student members many new opportunities for self-development and the ability to choose activities that will address the community’s greatest needs. Check out what youth volunteers are achieving at www.redcrossyouth.org
We are so proud to have Red Cross Clubs at the following schools:
Braden River High School
King High School
Land O’ Lakes High School
Palm Harbor University High School
St. Petersburg High School
Strawberry Crest High School
State College of Florida
University of Central Florida
University of South Florida
Don’t see your school listed? We will be accepting new club applications in the spring! Please contact your local chapter to receive a student guide and we will work with you step-by-step through the process. Please note it is very important for interested students or faculty to reach out to your Chapter FIRST, before launching a club!
Youth Leadership Workshop
Each summer, the Tampa Bay Chapter holds a Youth Leadership Workshop put on by the local Youth Executive Board. This multiple day workshop provides 14-17 year old students the opportunity to learn team work, communication & leadership skills and how to teach Red Cross preparedness lessons to local school children in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. After successfully completing the workshop, youth volunteers take these skills out in the community by selecting the pre-determined days and locations that best fits their mode of transportation. Without a doubt this workshop changes everyone who participates.
At the end of the summer program, a select few youth volunteers are asked to join the Youth Executive Board. This board works year round to engage local Red Cross Clubs and to prepare for the following summer.
