If you had one year to make a difference ...What would you do?

The AmeriCorps program is made up of unique and diverse individuals committed to addressing our community’s critical needs in disaster preparation, prevention, and response to emergencies, including service to active and veteran military plus families. With the help of our AmeriCorps team and volunteers your local Red Cross is ensuring quality service delivery.

Our AmeriCorps program runs from January 1 through December 31, with 10 months of service during this time and 1700 hours for full time members and 900 hours for part time members. Full time members receive a living allowance of up to $12,100 while they serve, in addition to limited healthcare and childcare benefits, if eligible. Upon successful completion, members are also eligible for an education award of up to $5,350 from the National Corporation of Community Service.

All applicants must be at least 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred, and have a valid driver’s license. Applicants must be US citizens, US nationals, or legal permanent residents. The Red Cross values, promotes and manages diversity by providing programs that foster participation by persons with disabilities.
