The American Red Cross provides temporary, short-term relief services to victims of natural disasters and certain types of emergencies. Emergency needs are determined by a Disaster Action Team (DAT) that executes on-scene disaster assessment.

    Immediate Short-term Relief Services We Provide May Include:

  • Shelter
  • Food
  • Clothing, shoes, coat replacement
  • Toiletry items
  • Flood clean-up kits
  • Medical replacement (Rx, glasses, dentures, etc.)
  • Mental Health support
  • Referrals to other community organizations to assist with other needs
  • Information to assist with planning long-term recovery
  • Mass Care Sheltering and other client services (for large-scale disasters)
  • Additional transitional support may also be provided
Red Cross services are provided to clients free of charge and without bias, based solely on disaster-caused need. Safe and Well

After a disaster, letting your family and friends know that you are safe and well can bring your loved ones great peace of mind. This website is designed to help make that communication easier.

Register yourself as "Safe and Well" or search for loved ones who have registered through our Safe and Well service.

    Before contacting the Red Cross, please have the following information available:

  • Your full name and address
  • Your relationship to the person sought
  • The reason for loss of contact
  • The reason for your inquiry
  • The full name of the person you’re trying to locate along with their:
  • Birth date and place of birth
  • Last known address
  • The date and circumstances of last news and/or communication
  • Any pre-existing medical conditions
