How to Nominate Your Hero

Thank you for taking the time to nominate a candidate for the 2017 Heartland Heroes awards. Your nomination helps the American Red Cross Serving Central Illinois identify and celebrate those individuals who improve our community through their extraordinary actions! Heroes are everywhere, if you take the time to look.

Nominations are being accepted in the following categories:
YOUTH HERO
Honoring a young person or group of young people, under the age of 18, who show personal bravery or devotion to a greater cause, or whose heroic action had an impact on another person’s life. This could include outstanding students, scholars, athletes, Scouts and young leaders.

ARMED FORCES & PUBLIC SERVICE HERO
Honoring a health care, military or public safety professional or group of professionals who go above and beyond to answer the call to service – this could include doctors, nurses, EMTs, police, fire and military members.

MICHEL A. MCCORD GOOD CITIZEN HERO
Honoring a person or group of people who show exceptional dedication to a greater cause or act in a heroic matter to help another person. Think of friends and neighbors who devote their time and talent to our community through their volunteer efforts.

TIFFANY CIRCLE HUMANITARIAN HERO
Honoring a person or group of group who dedicate their time to the welfare of humanity by aiding those less fortunate, eliminating the suffering and pain of others, or working to build a better, stronger community.

ANNE FOX LIFESAVING HERO
Honoring a person or group of people whose heroic act saved another person’s life. This could include rescuing a person from a dangerous situation, administering CPR or any other act that saved another person’s life.
