All training is provided free of charge to volunteers.

Disaster Action Team Volunteer
If you are interested in helping your neighbors after house fires and other local emergencies then this opportunity is for you. The Red Cross responds 24/7 so the time commitment is flexible and no experience is necessary. Volunteers must be over 18, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Disaster Responder
The American Red Cross responds daily to disasters locally and throughout the country. Sample disaster response activities include: Individual Client Services (casework, health services and emotional care), Mass Care (feeding and sheltering), Logistics, Public Affairs and Disaster Services Technology. Each Red Cross disaster response activity has its own training and experience requirements for assignment. These requirements will be discussed during your 1:1 interview.

Administrative Support
Support your local Red Cross chapter’s day-to-day operations. Tasks can vary from greeting visitors and answering phones to data entry and other general office work to gathering and organizing supplies for trainings and events.

Blood Services Volunteer
Assist at fixed donation sites or mobile blood drives with key aspects of the donation process, including registration and donor care.

Community Education Volunteer
Present disaster and lifesaving information to youth, adults and/or seniors in classroom or group setting.

Community Outreach Volunteer
Represent the American Red Cross in your community by providing important disaster materials, volunteer opportunities and other Red Cross information at community events.

Internships
We often have unpaid internships available in the Indiana Region. Internship opportunities are available to current students in an undergraduate or graduate school program. Preparedness Health and Safety Services Instructor
Help prepare your community by teaching CPR/First Aid and AED courses. Opportunities to teach include daytime, evening and weekend classes.

Preparedness Health and Safety Services Logistics
If you love to clean and organize this might be the volunteer opportunity for you. This volunteer position includes ensuring that all equipment and supplies for CPR/First Aid and AED courses are maintained and in top condition as well as preparing classroom and materials for classes.
