February 2014 - Vickie Gregory

Volunteer of the Month

Vickie Gregory has been the right-hand person for staffer Judy Peterson for quite a while, assisting with the Frederick Disaster Action Team, trainings, events, and Volunteer Connection, to name a few. Since late last year, Vickie has been a lifesaver, but this month she went above and beyond her usual outstanding efforts.

Vickie very thoughtfully pulled together year-of-service information for the volunteers and worked with staffer Dawn McDonald to create a pin card for volunteers receiving a special pin marking the number of years they have volunteered with the Red Cross. She also went so far as to draft talking points to use during the pin presentation so each volunteer received a meaningful and thoughtful tribute. Vickie has also spent a considerable amount of time working in the Volunteer Connection database. Her database skills and knowledge allow her to quickly access report information, user details, etc. and she’s an integral part of the current clean up effort.

Vickie holds the American Red Cross mission close to her heart, and understands the value her fellow volunteers bring. Volunteers like Vickie don’t come along too often and we consider the organization lucky to have her as a passionate supporter.
