Karen Pinder of Delmarva Chapter has been with the American Red Cross for just a few months, but in that short timeframe, she has epitomized the definition of the ideal Red Cross volunteer. Karen has jumped right in, assisting with the Home Fire Campaign, to supporting Disaster Services, and even helping out with fundraising. Karen always says, “I am here to do whatever you need me to do,” and demonstrates that on a consistent basis.
When the Delmarva Chapter needed assistance in the front office, Karen stepped up. She also took on the task of manually entering disaster cases into the system, handling it with ease despite the fact that the organization was in the middle of a transition to a new case system. Karen made sure she took all of the new trainings to familiarize herself with new system and to fully understand the process.
In addition to all of this, Karen has also offered to serve as a member of the Volunteer Intake team and helps with the preparations for Community Events.
She is a generous spirit and hard work and sense of teamwork is irreplaceable. Thank you, Karen for all you are and all you do!
