When you say the words “loyal volunteer,” Debbie Brown is one of the first people who comes to mind! Debbie has been volunteering with the Nurse Assistant Training program for the past three years, teaching CPR/1st Aid/AED to the NAT students. Debbie is beyond reliable and dependable! Once, when an assigned instructor suddenly became ill, she returned to the Red Cross to teach the evening CPR class with just a half hour notice. Debbie had already taught that morning and, without hesitation, headed back to the Red Cross building to make sure the evening class was covered. Debbie always makes herself available to assist with not only our daytime class, but evening and weekend classes as well!
Debbie obviously enjoys teaching and the students enjoy her style of teaching. The student evaluations are always very positive, and many comment on how easy Debbie makes it for them to learn. She strikes the right balance of fun and functional, making sure the students are engaged, able to perform the skills correctly, and understand the importance of what they are doing.
Debbie is a true asset to the Nurse Assistant Training staff and we thank her for all of her heart and dedication!
