Dave Villa has been a member of the Central Maryland Board of Directors for a number of years, and in that time, has proven to be a top tier representative for the American Red Cross. Dave has been instrumental in fundraising, life-saving blood drives, recruitment of volunteers, and planning of one of our Home Fire Campaigns, which aims to make people safer by installing working smoke alarms in their homes.
Dave is a proud leader of the BGE Exelon Corporation, and has shown tremendous philanthropic leadership by procuring donations, holding countless blood drives annually, and recruiting volunteers for the American Red Cross. During the first half of the calendar year, amongst other things, Dave was heavily involved in the planning and execution of the above-mentioned Home Fire Campaign, which took place in Joppa, MD. He even had a team of BGE Exelon employees ready to win the contest of which group could install the most fire alarms, which of course translates to which group can make the most people safer.
When you speak to those who know Dave personally or professionally, they’ll say he has an uncanny way of entering a given situation and identifying what works and what doesn’t, and offering realistic and innovative solutions for improving upon the situation. He is pleasant, kind, and someone who truly builds Red Cross capacity to fulfill our mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies. Thank you, Dave, for all you do!
