Jim Beadel began volunteering with the American Red Cross nearly three years ago with our Disaster Cycle Services department. In these three years, Jim has accumulated over 4,000 hours of service, ready to respond to any home fires or other disasters that may occur in Howard County. In addition to responding to local home fires and disasters such as the Ellicott City floods, Jim is involved with our Home Fire Campaign, helping to install 10-year smoke alarms in neighborhood residences.
Jim is also receiving this honor because of his work as a mentor and a leader. For the last eight months, Jim has acted as the disaster response team leader for Howard County training and mentoring new volunteers and leading monthly team meetings. He is truly the reason for our increased capacity to serve clients in Howard County. Volunteers, clients, and coworkers all sing his praise, and we are very lucky to have him as part of the Red Cross family. Thank you, Jim, for all you do!
