2016 marked the 14th Annual Heroes Breakfast for the Cape, Islands and Southeast Massachusetts chapter of the American Red Cross. We were proud to showcase how local heroes change lives.
The breakfast was held April 13, 2016, at the Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis, in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
We honored local author Casey Sherman, whose best-selling book The Finest Hours, chronicled one of the most heroic sea rescues in American history. Casey spoke about how everyday people, thrust into extraordinary situations turn harrowing circumstances into personal triumphs through humanitarian acts of courage.
The breakfast honored local first responders, military members, doctors, nurses and everyday citizens who took action to intervene and change someone’s life.
The Red Cross touches lives in our community every day through programs and services such as disaster relief and health & safety training. As an organization committed to helping the community, the Red Cross is honored to salute individuals who are making a difference through their actions.
