Women Who Care

  • Massachusetts Red Cross Women Who Care

Red Cross Through The Ages, a leadership breakfast, is one of the largest Red Cross networking events in the commonwealth. In the tradition of our founder, Clara Barton, the event was developed to help raise awareness and garner financial support for the critical programs provided by the American Red Cross of Massachusetts. A special pop-up museum was on display to represent how the Red Cross has progressed through the ages.

Each year, we honor people who exemplify the mission of the American Red Cross. The 2016 American Red Cross Honoree Awards were presented to:
Red Cross of Massachusetts - Through the Ages Honoree - Lauren Schadt Baker

Lauren Schadt Baker - First Lady, Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Lauren Schadt Baker currently serves as the First Lady of Massachusetts alongside her husband, Governor Charlie Baker. As First Lady, Lauren works to improve the lives of the children of Massachusetts, focusing in particular on the children served by our Department of Children and Families.

Be Like Brit Foundation - Cherylann Gengel, Co-Founder

Shortly after sending the text to her mom "They love us so much and everyone is so happy. They love what they have and they work so hard to get nowhere, yet they are all so appreciative. I want to move here and start an orphanage myself." a catastrophic 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti and took their daughter Britney’s life. In loving memory her parents started the Be Like Brit Foundation, Inc.
