The American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts is a proud member of the esteemed B.A.A. Boston Marathon Charity Program. Team Red Cross is one of 31 charity teams running the 117th B.A.A. Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013!
Now in its second year, Team Red Cross brings together runners of all ages and abilities in support of the American Red Cross mission. Team Red Cross prepares runners for success in the Boston Marathon and provides a rewarding charitable-giving experience.
All funds raised by Team Red Cross benefit American Red Cross programs and services throughout eastern Massachusetts.
Run for Team Red Cross in the 117th B.A.A. Boston Marathon!
The American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts is seeking runners who are passionate about the Red Cross mission for the 117th B.A.A. Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013!
Applications are available at this link starting Sept. 10. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all bibs have been assigned.

Each runner is required to raise a minimum of $4,000 to support the American Red Cross (per B.A.A. Charity Program rules). As a charity team, a qualifying time is not required. Runners must acknowledge the ability to complete a marathon within six hours.
Team Red Cross also accepts runners who have already secured a marathon bib through the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) and would like to participate with a charity team. A fundraising minimum is required (contact the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts for details).

Team Red Cross Leadership:
Karen Teller – Team Captain
Karen is a dedicated and longstanding supporter of the American Red Cross as a member of the Tiffany Circle: Society of Women Leaders. A resident of Boston, Karen is an experienced distance runner and has completed seven Boston Marathons, including the 2012 Boston Marathon as a member of Team Red Cross.
Nicole Marcotte – Team Manager
Nicole is a member of the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts staff and oversees fundraising, partnerships, communication, events, and contracts for Team Red Cross.
Justin Burdon and Dan Fitzgerald – Coaches
Justin and Dan are the co-founders of the South End Athletic Company (SEAC). They are former college track teammates who provide coaching and instruction on marathon and distance running through SEAC. Dan and Justin lead the marathon training program for Team Red Cross.
Meet the 2012 Team!
On April 16, 2012, 21 runners completed the Boston Marathon – running 26.2 miles after months of training in support of the American Red Cross.
Thanks to their dedication and commitment, Team Red Cross exceeded its fundraising goal, raising $84,000 to fund vital Red Cross programs and raised awareness about the Red Cross mission.
