In the Northern Nevada, Red Cross volunteers are on call 24 hours a day to assist local people and families who have lost their home to a house fire, apartment fire, flood, or other disaster. Children and families left homeless from disasters seek the Red Cross in their time of need.
Large disasters that exceed the resources of the local chapter and its volunteers are managed and supported by the American Red Cross at a national level. Pre-trained disaster response volunteers from Northern Nevada may be deployed to assist with these efforts.
How will you reconnect with your family following a major disaster? The American Red Cross teaches individuals, families, and organizations how to prevent, prepare for, mitigate, and respond to disasters through our Community Disaster Education program.
American Red Cross of Northern Nevada youth programs provide youth and young adults with opportunities to learn and serve. Our goal is to provide youth with meaningful opportunities for training, leadership, and community service.
Through our global communication and support network, the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada provides emergency communications and other services to support military families.
Every year, Red Cross caseworkers from around the United States assist more than 5,000 families trying to reconnect with their loved ones in the U.S. and across the globe.
