“Heroes for the American Red Cross” is a grassroots campaign where local business people, school groups, church groups, civic clubs, and individuals pledge to raise $1,000 for their local Red Cross chapter. Money raised from this campaign supports Red Cross services, including disaster relief, assistance for fire victims, emergency military communications, and first aid and CPR training and disaster preparedness information for our community.

Online Heroes is an exciting web component where individuals can harness the power of the internet and peer-to-peer fundraising through their individual Heroes for the American Red Cross Team. For more information, contact Danielle Hayden, Campaign Manager, at (315) 343-0967 or danielle.hayden@redcross.org.

The American Red Cross of Central New York wants to thank and recognize our generous “Heroes for the American Red Cross” sponsor and participants:

Constellation Energy

Constellation Energy is the sponsor of this year’s “Heroes for the American Red Cross” campaign that Oswego Branch Manager Danielle Hayden is overseeing throughout the Central New York Region.

Constellation Energy contributed $7,500 to sponsor the campaign, and it’s also expected to raise an additional $1,000 by selling “hero squares” for $1 apiece.

Cayuga Community College-Fulton

Cayuga Community College-Fulton Campus students and advisors from the Student Government Organization, Business Leadership Club, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Veterans Club raised more than $1,300 for the 2013 “Heroes for the American Red Cross” campaign.

The students and advisors raised the money through fundraisers, including bake sales and pizza sales.

Each year, the American Red Cross asks local businesses, school groups and individuals to raise at least $1,000 for their local Red Cross chapter through the Heroes campaign.

The students and advisors gathered recently to present the check to Danielle Hayden, Manager of the Red Cross Oswego Branch and coordinator of the local Heroes for the American Red Cross campaign.

Oswego Classroom Teachers Association

The Oswego Classroom Teachers Association held a district-wide “Jeans Week” to raise money for the Heroes for the American Red Cross campaign. The teachers raised $2,121 by paying for the privilege to wear jeans to work!
