Every year, the American Red Cross, Western and Central New York Region responds to almost over 1,400 local disasters, and the vast majority of these are home fires. In addition to caring for local fire victims when they have nowhere else to turn, we are committed to promoting fire safety and helping to reduce the number of fire-related deaths and injuries that occur in our region each year.
In partnership with local fire departments, community groups and corporate supporters, we are offering FREE smoke alarms to residents in need and providing fire preparedness education to hundreds of local families through our ongoing Home Fire Campaign.
Please browse the tabs below to learn how you can get involved with this campaign in your community. To request an appointment to have free smoke alarms installed in your home, simply complete the Smoke Alarm Request Form at the bottom of this page.
Whether providing relief to families affected by home fires or installing smoke alarms to help prevent fire-related deaths and injuries, the work of the Red Cross is done almost entirely by volunteers.
