AmeriCorps: AmeriCorps State Community Disaster Preparedness Coordinator
AmeriCorps is an exciting federally-funded program that allows its participants to give back to communities around the country, while also earning a small living stipend and an education award upon completion of a service term. At the American Red Cross our AmeriCorps members build a core group of community disaster education volunteers through recruitment, training, and developing procedures for engagement. If you are passionate about helping your community and ensuring everyone is prepared for disasters, this opportunity would be great for you!
Reception and Clerical Work: Reception and Clerical opportunity duties vary by office location but could possibly include answering telephones and taking messages, data entry, preparation of mailings, working with and assisting volunteers, and much more.
Fundraising/ Special Events: The American Red Cross has several special events and fundraisers throughout the year. If you are passionate about coordinating events, excited to reach out to sponsors or event contributors, or excel in marketing design this would be a great place to provide your assistance.
