Down the street, across the country, around the world. The American Red Cross Greater Cincinnati Dayton Area is part of the global Red Cross Re Crescent network that work to help communities recover from disasters and conflicts, building safer communities, and educate future humanitarians. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies in more than 188 countries, together, form the largest humanitarian network in the world. Every effort strengthens this bond working towards one common goal: to alleviate human suffering.

At the Cincinnati Dayton Region, International Services communicates the Red Cross' international stories, fostering partnerships with ethnic communities locally, and delivering services.

    International Humanitarian Law Education through:

  • International Humanitarian Law Courses (offered every three months), free to the public and CEUs offered for OHIO Social Workers with a fee.
  • International Humanitarian Law Peer Education Program (open for young people ages 12-25 years old)
  • Exploring Humanitarian Law (module for social studies educators who teach young people ages 13-25 years old)
  • RAID Cross Simulation, a role-playing simulation activity for groups to learn about International Humanitarian Law, number of participants between 8 – 32 people.

Restoring Family Links Program
Tracing inquiries including Holocaust and WWII tracing and documentation services); Red Cross Messages; Health and Welfare Inquiries; International Disaster Inquiries; ICRC Certificates of Detention; ICRC Travel Documents; and Information and Referral Services.

Measles and Rubella Initiatives
Raising awareness of Measles and Rubella Initiatives through education and grassroots fundraising

Ethnic Communities Outreach
Using Naturalization Ceremonies Services and social services and religious groups organizations, schools and universities.
