In addition to connecting you with programs and services offered by the Red Cross, the Northeast Ohio Region offers referrals and resources for those in need. When additional help is required, we link clients with agencies that provide long-term assistance in the form of food, shelter, clothing, furniture and more. Below is a list of agencies that can provide assistance outside of the Red Cross domain.

Stark County

Goodwill Community Campus

Services: Provides vouchers for clothing and household goods.

Salvation Army

Services: Provides food assistance and hot meals program.

Catholic Charities Serving Stark and Portage Counties

Services: Provides: assistance for emergency needs including rent and mortgage; utilities; and work-related expenses (e.g. work boots, transportation to a new job, etc.); and referrals to other community agencies, and possibly other services essential to well-being. Operates an emergency food pantry at Canton site.

Stark Metro Housing Authority

Services: Offers family housing throughout Stark County. Rent is based on income. Utilities assistance may be available.

Community Services of Stark County

Services: Emergency assistance program helps those in crisis with housing, utilities, rent and vision care for uninsured or underinsured. Additional services include Samaritan’s Table, a weekly hot meal program.
