Seven deaths occurred last year due to home fires throughout Ashland, Erie, Holmes, Huron, Lorain, Richland, and Wayne Counties.
To combat this loss of life in the future, the Red Cross of Lake Erie/Heartland is partnering with area Fire Departments, Emergency Management Agencies and city officials to identify at-risk areas.
But smoke alarms, alone, will not save lives. Our knowledgeable volunteers will also help educate families and individuals on fire safety, including how to create an escape plan, during the installation.
