The American Red Cross Cascades Region offers a variety of emergency preparedness presentations that can be scheduled for any type of organization, including: schools, faith-based organizations, businesses, government entities, neighborhood associations and non-profits. The presentation types include:
Prepare! (45-60 minute) – This presentation discusses disasters that can occur in our geographic area and the three essentials of being informed, making a plan, and building a kit.
Youth Prepare! (30-60 minute) – Covers similar content as our Prepare! class but is designed for people ages 11-17.
Pillowcase Project (45-60 minute presentation) – This standardized national program, sponsored by the Disney Company, empowers youth in school grades 3-5 to prepare for emergencies. Each child is given a pillowcase to decorate, a workbook of exercises to practice, and a certificate of completion at the end.
Preparedness Pals (three 30-minute classes – Earthquake, Home Fire, and Winter Weather Safety) – Taught by a Red Cross preparedness expert with the help of a furry puppet, these classes offer important safety tips for children ages 3-10.
An outreach booth can be scheduled for a community event or fair.
Free “Prepare!” presentations open to the public and presented every month from 6-7 p.m. at various chapter locations. For more information, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (503) 284-1234 or (503) 284-1234.
