Celebrate the efforts of the Red Cross Volunteers who serve the Susquehanna Valley: Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, eastern Cumberland, Perry, Mifflin and Juniata Counties and the heroic actions of the Spirit of the Hero award recipients, ordinary people who performed extraordinary actions in a time of need.
Heroes will be honored during March as Red Cross Month at the Red Cross Spirit of the Hero Award program on March 31, 2015, The Hershey Lodge, 325 University Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.
Nominate a Hero!
The American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley is seeking nominations for the 5th annual Spirit of the Hero Award. These awards will recognize local heroes who performed extraordinary acts to save life or make their community a safer place. Heroes will be honored during March as Red Cross Month at the Red Cross Spirit of the Hero Award program on March 31, 2014 at the Hershey Lodge.
The Red Cross is calling form nominations in the following categories
Nominees must live or work in Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, Perry, eastern Cumberland, Mifflin or Juniata counties, or the heroic act may have taken place within these counties. The heroic act may have occurred outside of the area as long as the hero is an area resident. The heroic act must have occurred during the 2014 calendar year to be eligible for an award at the March event. To nominate a Hero, please complete the Nomination Form. The Red Cross Spirit of the Hero event was established to raise public awareness of local heroes whose actions support the mission of the Red Cross. It is a chance to honor those who make a simple, yet powerful decision to put their personal needs aside in order to help others.
Nominations are due by December 30, 2014.
The Spirit of the Hero Awards were established by the American Red Cross to raise awareness of how ordinary people can save lives and impact the safety of their communities. Honorees are local people whose actions reflect the mission of the American Red Cross and who made the simple yet powerful decision to help others in time of crisis.
