Emergency and Disaster Response

  • Los Angeles - Volunteer at Apartment Fire

The Tennessee Region of the American Red Cross is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist individuals and families displaced by natural and man-made disasters, including home fires (the majority of responses), tornados, floods, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents and other emergencies.

Red Cross disaster relief focuses on meeting people's immediate emergency disaster-caused needs.

When a disaster threatens or strikes, the Red Cross provides:

• Shelter

• Food

• Health and mental health services

• Feeds emergency workers

• Handles inquiries from concerned family members outside the disaster area

• Provides blood and blood products to disaster victims

• Helps those affected by disaster to access other available resources
