Reginald E. Gordon - CEO

Reggie is a native of Richmond, Virginia. He attended public schools in Richmond. He began his volunteer experience with the Greater Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross, while he was a student at Thomas Jefferson High School. He was the president of the Red Cross Club at his high school and then was elected the president of the city-wide Red Cross Club. As a teen, he served on the board of directors of the Greater Richmond chapter. He also won a national contest to have the honor of being the speaker at the closing session of the national Red Cross convention in Miami Beach in 1977. He then went on to serve on the Red Cross National Committee on Youth Involvement.

Reggie received his undergraduate degree in Public Policy (Telecommunications Policy) from Duke University. He received his juris doctorate from Howard University School of Law, where he was the Special Articles Editor of the Howard Law Journal.

He began his professional career as an attorney for Central Virginia Legal Aid in Emporia, Virginia. After that he was employed by the national Red Cross in Washington, D.C. as in-house counsel as a biomedical attorney. He eventually became a Senior Associate General Counsel and the national Ethics Officer. He returned home to Richmond in 1997 and worked as a fund developer with the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg. He was selected as the first executive director of Homeward in 1998, the coordinating organization for homeless services in the Richmond Region. After seven years with Homeward, he became the executive director of William Byrd Community House, a multi-service poverty prevention agency, addressing the needs of low income children, families, seniors and single adults in the city of Richmond.

In July of 2007, his career came full circle, when he became the Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross, which later expanded to become the Eastern Virginia Region. He is delighted that his professional career path has led him right back to the organization that opened doors for him as a youth.

Reggie, a recipient of numerous volunteer and leadership awards, is a past chair of the board for Leadership Metro Richmond. He is also on the board of Bon Secours Healthsource, the Rotary Club of Richmond, the Richmond Memorial Health Foundation and the Dominion Energy Share Customer Advisory Board. Additionally, he serves on the Greater Richmond Transit Authority Board and the Commonwealth Public Broadcasting Corporation Board. He is a Community Trustee for the Junior League of Richmond and supports other organizations in his community like the Homeward Board of Advocates, Boaz and Ruth and ROSMY. He was appointed to serve on the Mayor’s Anti-Poverty Commission for the City of Richmond. He is also an International Humanitarian Law instructor for the Red Cross.

Rosalyn currently, is the Chief Administrative Officer for American Red Cross Eastern Virginia Region. More than 20 years of experience working in nonprofit organizations. Eighteen years with the American Red Cross. Date of employment June 26, 1995

Past President of Petersburg Lunch Rotary – 2006, past member of the board of directors Rebuilding Together Petersburg and member and Treasurer of board of directors Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and a member of the United Way EFSP Petersburg board.

Born in Jarratt, VA – Sussex County have one son who attends Virginia Commonwealth University lives in Chesterfield County. A member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Jarratt, VA. I love gardening, baking and reading murder mysteries. Graduated from Morgan State University BS Business Administration.

Lorri Powers - Regional Volunteer Resources Director

Lorri Powers is the Regional Volunteer Resources Director. Since 2000, Lorri has been with the American Red Cross ensuring effective volunteer program implementation. In the Eastern Virginia region, she supports a team that is responsible for all regional volunteer engagement activities. They also focus on the strategic development, implementation and sustainability of youth volunteer programs.

Linda Hughes - Regional Disaster and Programs Officer

With 30 years of American Red Cross experience, Linda Hughes is the Eastern Virginia Regional Disaster and Programs Officer supporting employees and volunteers in the Disaster Cycle Services, Service to Armed Forces and International Services departments. She is responsible for program implementation and service goals, as well as, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Linda works directly with the Chief Administrative Officer to develop the annual budget and has fiduciary responsibility for sound financial management and accountability of programs.


Sean O’Berry - Chief Development Officer

Sean O’Berry - Chief Development Officer

Sean O’Berry is the Chief Development Officer for the Eastern Virginia Region. He and his team raise the funds needed so the American Red Cross can help those in times of crisis and advance our mission. Sean serves on the Senior Management Team in the Region and oversees all aspects of fundraising for one of the largest Regions in our multi-state Division. Sean O’Berry has over 15 years of fundraising experience and over 11 years of state government experience, having joined the Red Cross after stints at United Way as well as with a gubernatorial administration and for a member of the Virginia House of Delegates.


Jonathan McNamara - Director of Donor and Media Relations

Jonathan McNamara - Director of Donor and Media Relations

Jonathan McNamara is the Regional Director of Donor and Media Relations for the American Red Cross, Eastern Virginia Region. His responsibilities include media relations, social media engagement and video storytelling. Jonathan is also a member of the Red Cross Advanced Public Affairs team, where he deploys to support national disaster communications efforts.

Prior to joining the Red Cross, Jonathan worked in a variety of organizational settings including the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs for the United States Army, Patient Services Inc. and Mediapond Productions. He is also a 2005 graduate of James Madision University with a degree in Media Arts and Design.
