Heroes Nomination Form

Do You Know A Hero?

Do you know a hero–someone who has saved a life, made our community a safer place, or gone above and beyond to help someone in need?

Each year, Red Cross chapters in the Northwest Region present awards to local heroes. These individuals have saved lives, made significant, positive differences in their communities in the areas of emergency response, disaster preparedness and prevention, or exemplified the Red Cross mission in some way. We actively seek nominees who align with one or more of the Red Cross five lines of service in some way. These services are:

  • Disaster Services (e.g. community preparedness educator or coordinator, disaster volunteer, search and rescue)
  • Health and Safety (e.g. successful CPR/AED save, choking rescue, first aid use)
  • Blood Services (e.g. significant blood donor, blood drive coordinator, community blood partner/promoter)
  • Service to the Armed Forces (e.g. therapy dogs, army base/hospital volunteers, military communications)
  • International Services (e.g. international humanitarian law, translation services, restoring displaced families)
Note: Heroes come in many shapes and sizes. If you know someone that you think is a hero please do not hesitate to nominate them. In the past we have honored individuals, groups, adults, children and even pets. We appreciate creative nominations!

These heroes are recognized at Red Cross Heroes events throughout the year. Our Heroes will be recognized on the following dates:
  • Red Cross Heroes Breakfast in Everett – December 13, 2018
  • Red Cross Heroes Breakfast in Seattle – March 28, 2019
Nominations are accepted year round and will be considered for the event in closest proximity to the nominee. Nominations are due approximately 4 months prior to the event. Please submit this form or email your nomination to Ellie Huizenga at ellie.huizenga@redcross.org during this time frame.
