Designed for those ages 11 and older, our babysitting classes will help you provide appropriate care for infants and children, choose suitable activities, handle certain types of behaviors, understand what to do in an emergency, and learn how to start your own babysitting business.
The Massachusetts Babysitter Training course from the American Red Cross is designed those ages 11 to 15, and is delivered in a traditional classroom setting. With caring, compassionate, knowledgeable instructors who can help you understand the proper techniques for caring for infants and children, you can become a more capable, confident babysitter.
In Massachusetts, babysitter certification from the Red Cross is valid for two years. In order to maintain your credentials, certificate holders can enroll in one of our abbreviated recertification courses, which allows you to receive the latest information, update your skills, and renew your certification for an additional two years.
At the Red Cross we offer two online Massachusetts babysitter certification classes: Babysitting Basics, and Advanced Child Care. These courses are delivered entirely online and are designed to help you better care for the infants and children in your charge. These courses allow you to train at your own pace making it easy to become comfortable with the material in each section before moving on to the next.
At the Red Cross we provide those ages 11 and older with a comprehensive education in babysitting and child care best practices. However, it's important to note that none of our babysitting classes in Massachusetts are intended for state-licensed child care providers, as our courses do not meet all of the state requirements for such certification.
Whether you babysit all the time or provide care infrequently, it's important to keep your wide range of skills fresh and ready for anything. To that end, we've created a variety of refresher materials, including quizzes, games, activities and videos that you can use to remember all the information you learned during your Red Cross babysitter training in Massachusetts.
After successfully completing your Red Cross babysitter training in Massachusetts, you'll receive a digital certificate that you can print up and place in your portfolio or access online at any time. In addition, your certificate will include a unique ID number and a QR code, which allows potential employers to confirm that your certificate is valid.
