The Red Cross delivers CNA training in Fairfax that meets or exceeds state standards - so you can achieve your goals. Held during daytime hours, our CNA courses emphasize academics and hands-on training - making it easy to learn and apply your knowledge immediately. After your in-class training is complete, students will continue their education in a professional setting by taking part in clinical rotations. Before you can sign up for CNA training in Fairfax, you must attend a local orientation information session, pass a reading and math assessment or present your high school diploma or GED certificate, pass a Red Cross criminal background check and complete the Red Cross physical form/TB test. In addition, you may be required to meet other criteria, which your local Red Cross CNA counselor can provide you with.
Once you've successfully passed your CNA classes in Fairfax, you will be ready to take your state licensing exam and skills test. These exams are up to you to schedule and are not typically hosted at Red Cross training facilities. Test-day requirements vary by location, but will be available to you well before your test date.

After receiving your Fairfax CNA certification you'll be qualified to join the medical staff at a doctor's office, hospice, in-home or long-term care facility, or hospital. In your role at facilities such as these you'll work under the direction of a nurse, and act as the bridge between patients and nurses. The specific types of duties you may be expected to perform are largely dependent upon the type of facility you work at, however as part of your training we work to ensure that you'll be ready for what lies ahead.
