2004 Holiday Ornament
It was a black and white photograph uncovered in the archives that served as the inspiration for the 2004 holiday ornament. A photographer captured a freshly loaded World War I truck filled with holiday gifts and more, provided by Americans and distributed through the American Red Cross. While the photo commemorates a moment in war-torn Europe with expectations of a happier future, this year’s ornament provokes smiles and memories of that happier future when youngsters celebrated toy-filled holidays with trucks, cars, dolls, games and more.

2003 Holiday Ornament
Become a collector! The 2003 holiday ornament is the ninth in a series and the second inspired by the art of Larry Kirkland. Mr. Kirkland provided the concept for the installation of six large bas-relief panels, entitled Hands Helping Hands, located in the atrium of the new American Red Cross national headquarters building at 2025 E Street, NW, in Washington, DC. Each 8 1/2 x 6 foot panel was carved from Carrara marble by SGF Scultura in Italy, and according to Mr. Kirkland, represents the spirit of the volunteers and staff of the American Red Cross.
