American Red Cross Ambassadors on Friday spent some time talking about an important health effort: the Measles Initiative.
The Red Cross Measles and Rubella Initiative aims to vaccinate children – village by village – across the globe. Since 2001, we have immunized more than 1.2 billion children against measles — one of the world's deadliest diseases. But this is not enough. 430 people still die each day, mostly children under 5.
Ambassadors – Red Cross volunteers trained specifically to speak on behalf of the organization publicly – talked to Clark students about the initiative to gain their support.
