60 Area Students Attend 6th Annual Leadership Development Conference

The Southwest Washington Red Cross Youth Council shared their collective knowledge with their middle and high school peers during the 6th annual Leadership Development Conference held on March 9 and 10, 2013 at Camas High School.

CAMAS, WA, March 15, 2013 - What does it take to be a leader? The Southwest Washington Red Cross Youth Council shared their collective knowledge with their middle and high school peers during the 6th annual Leadership Development Conference held on March 9 and 10, 2013 at Camas High School. In addition to team building exercises, Youth Council members led seminars on a number of topics including team empowerment, selfless leadership, goal planning and reaching objectives via the “Energy Bus,” conflict management, club dynamics and management, and leadership qualities. During the second day, 25 students were trained in CPR/AED and another 17 were certified for First Aid.

The 60 students attending the two-day conference represented Prairie, Mt. View, Columbia River, Hockinson, Union, Battle Ground, Fort Vancouver, Evergreen, Skyview, Hudson’s Bay, and Camas High Schools and Skyridge Middle School. The conference was sponsored by the generosity of Quantum Residential, Inc. located in Vancouver, Washington.
