The American Red Cross Greater St. Louis Region announces that Dick Clark has been elected to serve a two-year term as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
“Dick has been a leader on our board for six years,” said Cindy Erickson, Regional CEO. “We have an extremely committed board, and the board unanimously elected Dick as chair. The board knows Dick’s experience will continue to bring real financial leadership to our organization.”
Clark was Vice-President and Controller at Monsanto Company from 2001 until he retired in 2010. Throughout his distinguished career at Monsanto, he held a variety of financial leadership positions with increasing responsibilities. One of Clark’s major accomplishments was orchestrating the global financial integration following Monsanto’s merger with Pharmacia & Upjohn. Since his retirement, Clark has worked part-time as a consultant while continuing to be actively involved in the community.
Clark received his B. S. in Engineering and his MBA from Tulane University. He holds the Certificate in Management Accounting.
Clark has been a volunteer with the American Red Cross – St. Louis Area Chapter Board of Directors since 2006. Here, he has served as Vice-Chairman, Chairperson of the Philanthropy Committee, Chairperson of the Finance Committee, board co-chair of the 2012 Lifesaver Event and member of the Nominating Committee. He is married and has two daughters. Clark and his family reside in Webster Groves, Missouri.
“The Red Cross is fortunate to have Dick lead our dedicated group of Board members,” said Erickson. “His experience as both an executive and community leader will help guide our organization as we continue to push forward in our efforts to build resilient communities and provide emergency assistance to those in need.”
Also taking new executive positions on the Board are Frank Dellaquila, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Emerson, and Susan Nestor Levy, Executive Vice President, Ascension Health Alliance and President & CEO, Ascension Health Global Mission. Both will serve in Vice Chairman roles. Danny Scott, retired Vice President of Marketing for Monsanto, will assume the role of Secretary. Danny is currently Partner/VP Business Operations at All-N-Food, LLC.
New members of the Board include Theresa Beldner of Enterprise Holdings and Christopher Long of Build-A-Bear Workshop. Long serves as a Web Analyst for Build-A-Bear, and is joining the Board for a one-year term as an Olin United Way Fellow. Long is also a volunteer with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team. Theresa Beldner currently serves as Foundation Manager for both the company and family foundations: Enterprise Holdings Foundation and Crawford Taylor Foundation.
