American Red Cross Helping 20 People After Hartford Fire

Thanks to the Red Cross in CT, 20 people have shelter and food after a multi-unit fire in Hartford

HARTFORD, CONN. – The American Red Cross is helping 20 people – 14 adults and six children – in three families after a multi-unit fire Wednesday afternoon, April 10, on Kibbe Street in Hartford.

The Red Cross provided help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs to a family of three adults and two children. Two additional families – 11 adults and four children – received help with emergency housing and food needs. The children were provided with stuffed animal toys.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
