The American Red Cross of Northern New York is hosting a First Aid-Responding to Emergencies class for high school coaches as they prepare for the winter/spring sports seasons. The will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 4, 6 and 7, at the Red Cross office at 73 Market St., Potsdam.
The program helps coaches recognize and respond appropriately to first aid emergencies and meets New York State coaching requirements. The course teaches skills that enable participants to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill athlete or bystander until more advanced medical personnel arrive.
The cost of the class is $120.00. Space is limited and advanced registration is required. To register, call 1-800-733-2767, or visit www.redcross.org/take-a-class.
