Despite the storm-like weather conditions, more than 1,100 people attended the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter’s 24th annual Club 200 Dinner Raffle and Gala event on Oct. 6, here, at the Fiesta Resort and Spa. The NMI Chapter raffled off more than $25,000 in cash and prizes during the evening event. In addition to the raffle, there other activities took place such as a costume contest and a dance contest. The G-Gap band, a country-western group from Japan, provided live entertainment, while audience members graced the dance floor with their line dancing skills in boots, spurs, or even bare foot. This year’s grand prize winner of $15,000 went to Leslie Sablan, a CNMI Customs Officer.
The Club 200 is the NMI Chapter’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Funds raised from this event go toward helping the Red Cross provide its services to the people of the commonwealth in times of disaster.
