The operations headquarters in Utica opened its doors to 40 local board members, donors and public officials on Monday afternoon. These very special guests were invited to learn more about how the Red American Red Cross responded to national disaster. A guided tour took them through each department of our temporary Utica headquarters followed by a look at our emergency response vehicles. Finally our VIP’s were treated to a ride to visit the affected areas and see our service delivery in action.
Senator Farley, who regrettably was unable to attend the tour, sent a message through his office stating “The Red Cross has, as usual, taken the lead in helping the residents of the affected areas and we are grateful for all that you do.”
How To Help
As a non-profit organization, the American Red Cross relies on the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donors to continue its lifesaving work. To make a donation to the local Red Cross to help the flood victims, visit www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS, call your local chapter, or send a check to your local chapter.
